2022 HC CAMPAIGN

by Hidden City Philadelphia of CultureTrust

Your support keeps Hidden City's coverage of Philly's built environment content free, uncluttered by ads, and fully independent.

Dear Hidden City Readers and Supporters,

Much like public radio, Hidden City is member-supported and relies on readers to fund our coverage of the built environment of Philadelphia.

As we celebrate the close of our 11th year of publication, we are here to ask for your support once again, for our yearly fundraiser.

By December 31st, we must raise $40,000. The first $15,000 in donations will be matched twice; first by NewsMatch, which is an organization that supports independent newsrooms around the country, and secondly by the Loud Hound Partner Fund, which supports newsrooms in specific US regions.

That means your donation will be matched twice!
In 2022 Hidden City:

* Reported on compelling news including; like the pending demolition of an old growth forest in Lower Merion to make way for middle school practice fields, the ongoing catastrophe of the Logan Triangle sinkhole, and the redevelopment plan for over 100 properties in northwest Philadelphia.

* Published our Lost Building survey of 2021 (2022 forthcoming!) cataloging the disappearing architectural fabric of our city and providing a history of the demolished buildings.

* Began regular coverage of the Philadelphia Historical Commission’s monthly meetings, giving the public an accessible summary of long and tedious meetings, during which the fate of many buildings are decided.

That $70,000 will mean that Hidden City can continue to operate and even expand its unmatched coverage of Philadelphia.

With your support, we can continue our essential work in 2023. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to sustain us in the new year

In Gratitude, Peter Woodall, Michael Bixler, Celia Jailer
